Can a smoothie maker work as a food processor?

We have a Back to Basics Smoothie Elite sitting in the back of a cupboard unused. I never make smoothies, but I’m about fed up with my ancient blender and was wondering if the smoothie maker would work for processing food?
It’s supposed to be able to crush ice, so presumably it’s pretty heavy duty.

you can try it, i think it will work long as you don’t put ice cubes in the food processor it will damage your container and blades so please do not put ice cubes. my mother put alots of dry roasted almonds and nuts in the food processor became smooth powder texture she does it all the time and food processor is fine.

no-unless you want really really smoothie type broccoli………… yea i tried that once……… *shudders* never going back! its a lot harder to clean, too, in my opinion. G’luck with whatever you r making!

yeah it probbley would just don’t but hard foods into the processer. because if you do it will break :O
